University of Calabar (UNICAL) Vice Chancellor, Prof. Florence Banku Obi, the institution’s Alumni leadership has paid a courtesy call to Senator Godswill Akpabio.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Obi and the National leadership of UNICAL Alumni Association has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Sen. Godswill Akpabio in his Abuja office.
The Vice Chancellor, who led the delegation on the visit, said that the management of the University were proud to have the Minister as an Alumni of the University.
She explained that the visit is also to seek collaboration and foster a good working relationship between the Ministry and the University in the area of critical infrastructural development.
She thanked Sen. Akpabio for his contributions to the growth and development of the University over the years.
Responding, the Minister congratulated Prof. Obi for breaking the jinx in the 46 year old institution by becoming the first female VC.
He gave assurance of his continues support to her administration and for the overall development of the University.
High point of the visit was the presentation of a plaque to the Minister by the Alumni President.
