Dr. Ngashi Ngongo of Africa CDC says Africa can secure its own health future through local manufacturing of vaccines, medicines, and diagnostics.
He said that building a full African pharmaceutical ecosystem, strengthening primary healthcare, pandemic readiness, and data sovereignty would boost health security, create jobs, and keep resources on the continent.
Africa is working on self-reliance and stronger health systems with support from the African Medicines Agency, pooled procurement, and innovative financing, writes allAfrica's Melody Chironda.
