The member representing Boki 2 State Constituency in the Cross River House of Assembly, Hon. Hilary Bisong, has donated food items to members of his constituency to cushion the effect of the lockdown occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The items included 600 bags of rice, cartons of maggi, salt, 1,000 face masks amongst others.

Speaking, Bisong said that the objective was to ameliorate the plight of his constituents who needed more support and sensitisation during this period of Covid-19.

According to him, it was important to remember the people during this harsh period which has brought untold challenges and hardship to various families, businesses and the global economy.

The food items, which was shared by Prof. Florence Banku Obi onbehalf of the lawmaker to all the political wards in Boki 2, were targeted at the most vulnerable in the constituency.

Prof. Obi, who sensitized the people on the dangers of the Covid-19 pandemic, urged them to always observe social distancing, regular hand washing, use of the face masks and to also maintain a high standard of hygiene.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Theresa Otu, thanked the lawmaker for remembering them at this critical point in time.

For Mr Peter Onabe, he said that the palliative would go a long way to cushion the effect of food shortage in his family, adding that the lawmaker had demonstrated his total love for his people.
