To ensure a bigger and better 2019 NorthFest Festival, His Excellency, Governor Ben Ayade, has introduced a prize for Best Agricultural Innovation/Invention.
This has become expedient to encourage research requisite to the improvement of agricultural production and the enhancement of the produce for local consumption and export.
Since inception of the Northern Cross River Cultural Festival (NorthFest),the festival has been expanding in scope and content.
The Senior Special Adviser Governor's Office and Events Management, Hon. Kenneth Aklah, hinted that the Governor wants this inclusion to become an integral part of the Festival to inspire Cross Riverians to key into the digital Agricultural revolution ongoing in the State.
He said the Governor expects Agro-cultural festivals to add real value to the agro-chain rather than being for funfair only.
Consequently, in the following weeks to come entries shall be called for and the best shall be rewarded with a handsome prize on the day of NorthFest Grand Finale.
