Following the State Government’s approval to recruit 2,000 Teachers and 500 Security Men, the Cross River State Universal basic Education Board (CR-SUBEB) has today, 30th October, 2018 commenced oral interview for shortlisted candidates in C'River Central senatorial District.
Leading the interview team, the Board Chairman, Dr Stephen Odey said the exercise was necessary to ensure a credible process where only qualified people are employed.
According to him “Over 26,000 people applied for this Job were we need only 2,500 people, this shows the high rate of unemployment in the Country. 5,000 people were shortlisted for the interview, so the exercise will be very thorough and unbiased. The ball is in your court, only those who perform well will be taken,” he emphasised.
Dr Odey commended Governor Ayade for this recruitment opportunity to fill up the dearth of teachers owing to retirement and dead cases. He added that, the recruitment exercise will not only boost the basic education sector, but will also take 2,500 people off the streets and put food on their tables.
He reiterated that the Board does not collect any monetary charge for the employment of teachers, or in the discharge of any of its functions. He further warned candidates to be weary of unscrupulous elements who may want to disguise themselves in the name of SUBEB to extort money.
The SUBEB Boss warned carriers of forged certificates to steer clear of the recruitment exercise, as all documents of successful candidates will be verified before employment.

iii. Thursday 1st November, 2018 – Obubra LGA
iv. Friday 2nd November, 2018 – Boki LGA
v. Saturday 3rd November, 2018 – Ikom LGA
