Barr. George Abang Ekpungu KSM PhD, has lauded Hon. Hillary Bisong, Member representing Boki II in the Cross River State House of Assembly, saying he’s displayed qualities that are very uncommon.
According to Dr. Ekpungu, if Hon. Bisong happened to be in the Northern part of the country, he’d be worshipped.
“At your age you are bestriding the wicked world with leadership as never before seen in our clime.
“You have displayed qualities that are very uncommon, intellect that is high and capacity that is far beyond your age, education and background.
“If you were from Hausa land, you would be worshipped. If you were from Yoruba Land, you would be celebrated. But because you’re an Osokom man, a Boki man and a Cross Riverian, what you get for your selflessness is ingratitude, what you get for your boldness is insult, what you get for your commitment is abuse.
“Because our people, your people, are selfish and lack understanding. I’m not saying you’re infallible or without sin or error, I’m only saying that regardless of your inadequacies, you’re a good man, you’re a good Representative of our people, of your people.
“As you step out for your second term aspiration, I step out with you and God is stepping out with you. You’re ambitious and it is good for you and your people, our people.
“You’re kind, it’s good for you and your people, our people. You’re strong it’s good for you and your people, our people. Adversary must line the path to greatness it’s a fact of life. Envy, jealousy, anger, etc must stalk the way to success, it’s a fact of life.
“I totally support your second term aspiration not because you’re without fault, or because you’re not supporting my aspiration, I need to fight back, no no no, but because I strongly believe that you’re better than the rest. You’re also the only one from Osokom 1 and 11, to have consulted me for a second term.
“As a Prince of Ochibe Bokyi, I can never go against the zoning. As you step out for your screening today, I wish you luck, our thoughts and prayers are with you and God is with you. Doro is goal.
