Wife of Cross River State Governor, Dr. Eyoanwan Otu, through her foundation, Humanity Without Borders (HUWIB), in collaboration with Mountain of Fire Ministries, has trained and empowered over 500 women, men, and youths across the state in various vocational and technical skills.

The programme provided hands-on training in ICT, baking, soap making, perfume production, barbing, solar installation, paint production, and fascinator making. The initiative, aimed at reducing unemployment and promoting self-reliance, ended with the formal presentation of empowerment items to the graduates.

The Governor’s wife, represented by the wife of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. Virginia Ironbar, commended the participants for their commitment and described the programme as a platform to provide beneficiaries with sustainable livelihoods.

She noted that over the past two years, her foundation has led impactful interventions in quality health, education, sustainable livelihood, social welfare, and the environment across the state’s three senatorial districts. She reaffirmed her commitment to supporting initiatives that uplift the lives of women and youths through practical training and empowerment opportunities.

Also speaking, the wife of the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Mrs. Nelly Ayambem, praised the foundation’s efforts in providing citizens with sustainable skills.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the governor’s wife for her support, describing her outreach programmes, health initiatives, and skill acquisition projects as life-changing.

The event underscored the vision of Humanity Without Borders to bridge gaps, create opportunities, and transform lives across the state.
