In Ikom, Cross River State, a traditional marriage follows a well-structured process that includes both financial and cultural obligations. The groom is expected to provide a Parent’s Labour Fee, the official Bride Price, and make several visits to the bride’s family with specific items such as kola nuts, palm wine, beer, cash, and other gifts for her family and elders.
A central part of the ceremony is the formal introduction, where these items are presented at the bride’s family compound in the presence of relatives and community elders.
Below is the Traditional Bride Price and Marriage List for marrying a woman from Ikom, Cross River State, Nigeria (2025 edition).
