Police in Somalia have come under increasing criticism for their perceived level of political bias, which some politicians in the country have said weakens the force's ability to effectively "serve and protect".
Former Speaker of Parliament, Osman Bari, has accused the police chief of aligning with political groups, which, he said, undermines the public trust. Analysts have said the politicization of the force adds to the challenges Somalia faces as it strives to stabilize after decades of conflict.
