Dr. Julius Kijuo KSJI Honored with June 12 Catholic Law Students Award, Dedicates it to Late MKO Abiola

The Catholic Law Students Association of Nigeria, University of Calabar Chapter Cross River State recently held its award night at Hogies Luxury Hotel, Calabar, on June 12, 2025. 

The event, organized under the leadership of Akagha Victor Xavier for the 2024/2025 administration, recognized outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to society. The ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Rev. Father Augustine Polycarp and Rev. Sister Vivian Anukanti.

Dr. Julius Kijuo, KSJI, FRGP,  who by his Christian life is a Knight of the Roman catholic church, Senior Special Assistant to the Cross River State Governor on Youth Development, was among the esteemed recipients of the awards. Expressing gratitude to the donors, Dr. Kijuo said, "I am humbled by this recognition, and I thank the Catholic Law Students Association for this honor. I urge everyone to continue serving God with diligence and integrity."

In a heartfelt gesture, Dr. Kijuo dedicated the award to the memory of the late, MKO Abiola, a symbol of democracy and resilience. He stated, "I dedicate this award to the memory of Chief MKO Abiola, a hero of democracy who fought tirelessly for our nation's progress. May his legacy continue to inspire us."

The award serves as a testament to Dr. Kijuo's dedication to youth development and his commitment to making a positive impact in Cross River State. His work as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor has been instrumental in empowering young people and promoting their welfare.

In his remarks, Akagha Victor Xavier, the President of the Catholic Law Students Association, congratulated Dr. Kijuo on his achievement, saying, "We recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to society. Dr. Kijuo's work is a shining example of what it means to serve others."

The presence of Rev. Father Augustine Polycarp and Rev. Sister Vivian Anukanti added a spiritual dimension to the event, underscoring the importance of faith and values in the recipients' work. The ceremony highlighted the importance of acknowledging and celebrating individuals who have made significant contributions to their communities and the nation at large.
