Efa spoke during the visit of a group, Aids Tuberculosis and Malaria Network to the community for an advocacy tour at the weekend.

The monarch said the area had been marginalised by the state government in terms of the provision of basic amenities.

He said, “We are being cheated by the government and when you go there, you will discover that we lack electricity and pipe borne water. The community has not felt the impact of the government over the years and basically has nothing.

“However, it is not an outsider’s problem but our own and with the new look of things this development will hopefully change. We are optimistic that a lot of things will be done in the community from May 29, and we hope to be educated so that we will understand how they will make better use of the PHC facility,” he said.

In his remarks, the state coordinator of ATM, Pastor Effiong Udobong, said the project was aimed at making communities take ownership of PHC facilities to prevent theft and vandalism.
