SEN PRINCE BASSEY OTU VICTORY: A Win for Continuity of Good Governance

Government is known to be a continuum; and democracy as a form of government leverages on continuity to engender consistent development and progress in the society.

A government that does not prioritize consolidating on the programmes and achievements of past administrations often tows the path of perpetual decline and acute retrogression.

Worse is the fact that often times, the revenues generated in form of tax payers money that should carter for the wellbeing of the people usually go to waste under such government, making it hard to attain a sustainable level of development.

It is on this premise that Sen Prince Bassey Otu victory is a win for continuity of good governance because he won't abandon projects and programmes of the current administration, having understood the need to sustain and consolidate those programmes and projects initiated by the current and previous administrations for the benefit of the people.

Indeed, his victory is a testament to the desire of our people to ensure the continuity of peace, Godliness and sustainable development in the State.

The Governor-Elect is of a strong conviction that sustaining the policies of the present administration and taking it further will engender legitimacy, development and strengthen successful policy implementation. 

Call him a thoroughbred gentleman who is competent, committed and a passionate meritorious leader who will take the development of the State notches higher in all sectors of the economy.

As an innovator with immense capacity, managerial ability and multiple competences to manage the quantum of the State resources, he has the needed qualities to rewrite the story of Cross River State and reposition it through the continuity of peace, godliness, development and programmes that will lead us to enviable heights.

By possible extrapolation, what this means for Cross River that not only will the peace, godliness, infrastructures, social amenities, the free education policies of the current administration be sustained, Sen Prince Bassey Otu will further expand on them in all sectors, all for the attainment of an economically-viable State.

Ours is a new dawn, a golden era, a blessed dispensation and a time to behold a Governor who in all sincerity means well for his people.
