A sitting Senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District, Prof Sandy Onor, has won the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship ticket. 

Onor got 236 votes to beat his closest rival, Senator Gershom Bassey, who represented the Southern District in the senate. He got 175 votes. 

A member of the House of Representatives, Daniel Asuquo got 147 votes. 

Nigeria’s former ambassador to Ethiopia, Nkoyo Toyo got 4 votes while the Chancellor of the first private university in the state, Arthur Jarvis polled 6 votes. 

Valid votes were 571 while void votes were 20.
