Aspirant of the People's Democratic Party, PDP for Cross River State Governorship, Sen. Gershom has congratulated his contender Sen. Sandy Ojang Onor for winning the party guber primaries to contest in 2023 general elections.
Onor who respresents Cross River Central got 236 votes to beat his closest rival, Senator Gershom Bassey, who represented the Southern District in the senate. He got 175 votes.
A member of the House of Representatives, Daniel Asuquo got 147 votes.
Nigeria’s former ambassador to Ethiopia, Nkoyo Toyo got 4 votes while the Chancellor of the first private university in the state, Arthur Jarvis polled 6 votes.
Valid votes were 571 while void votes were 20.
In his appreciation message, Senator Gershom Bassey said; “The PDP gubernatorial primaries have come and gone. The winners have been declared. I congratulate my colleague Sen. Sandy Onor on his victory at the polls and wish him well in the forthcoming general elections. I also congratulate the back to south movement that recieved over 322 votes out of 601. Well done. The PDP in CROSS RIVER STATE heard us loud and clear.”
