From the Chairman of Good News Development Association (GNDA), a farmer’s cooperative society,  Mr. Barnabas Anyanwu, has come an appeal to Nigerians to embrace farming even if at a subsistence level  so as to fight the challenge of food insecurity.

Speaking at the group Annual General Meeting (AGM), Anyanwu, said the economy situation of the nation should motivate every Nigeria to be a farmer, no matter the level of involvement, most especially the primary farm products needed in the home.

While taking stock of the group’s activities in the last three years, the GNDA boss said: “The experience has not been very easy, finding ourselves in this economy that is not favourable. But with determination and hardworking, they will continue to move forward by the grace of God. Government has good policies but it has not trickled down to the people who should benefit from it.”

He however, commended the Lagos State Agriculture Development Programme and British America Tobacco Company for their support and encouragements, even as he enjoined others to forge a synergy of cooperation with the GNDA.
