A well-experienced lawyer, Attah Ochinke Esq., has merged as the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Calabar Chapter (Doyen Bar).
THE PARADISE learned that Ochinke, a former Commissioner under Governor Liyel Imoke-led administration, was elected Chairman of the NBA Calabar Chapter on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in an election that held at Danic Hotels, Calabar, Cross River State.
He defeated his closest rival, Prof. Jacob Abiodun Dada of the University of Calabar (UNICAL).
Ochinke is a former Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Cross River State; a former Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Cross River State; a former lecturer, Faculty of Law, University of Calabar (UNICAL), a Calabar base Legal Practitioner and Principal Counsel of the Attah Ochinke & Associates, Calabar.
In 2016, Barr. Ochinke declined an appointment by Governor Ben Ayade to serve as the Chairman of the Cross River State Diaspora Fund Board.
According to VOICE OF YALA, Prof. Dada has been Ayade’s favourite candidate but lost. Prof. Dada is Gov. Ayade’s former lecturer.
Prof. Dada is a Professor of Law and a law lecturer at the Law Faculty, University of Calabar. He is a former Dean of Law, University of Calabar.
Dada is also a former Justice of the Court of Appeal, the Republic of Gambia, and a Calabar-based legal practitioner with the DADA, OKEY AND OPARA & Associates, Calabar.
