Boki Council Social Reintegration Program; A Joy To Behold As the Journey Progresses

The executive Chairman of Boki Local Government Council, Pastor John Ewa has shown deep commitment in restoring orderliness in the Local government. Prominent in his agenda is to get the young people gainfully engaged so as to reduce the spate of Cultism and other social vices in Boki and ensure an enabling environment for development.

This Social reintegration program initiative is aimed at achieving the following;

1. To get Cultists to renounce activities of Cultism

2. To empower them with Skills

3. To equip them with Materials to start up a trade.

To this end, the Chairman has snatched away many from the jaws of self destruction by successfully organising interactive meetings with the various confraternities in Bashua, Orimekpang, Bunyia and Okundi community respectively. He has also sponsored a 4-day Camp experience which took place in Ikom LGA between 9th-12 of May, 2021 where resource persons were invited to lecture about 750 participants who willingly renounced cultism and are ready to subject themselves to reformation.

A Peace and Conflict Resolution Committee has been constituted to work with security agencies to ensure that participants of this program are given all the necessary support they need to succeed in their decision to shun social/moral vices and be reintegrated into the society as responsible citizens.
