The attention of the Boki Blog have been drawn to false, and malicious report circulated by Online media and individuals claiming Hon. Omang Theresa Fobe had ordered thugs to attack the Cross River State Palliative train led by Honorable Commissioner for Humanity and Social Welfare, Honorable Blessing Egbara.

According to reports; “Hon. Fobe the councilor representing Ekpashi ward of Boki II constituency had led thugs numbering over fifty persons to prevent the commissioner’s team from leaving and seized trucks of palliatives”. This is false and misleading.

Explaining the reasons behind the saga, Hon Edward Bufa Bisong, Councillor representing Kakwagom/Bawop ward who followed the palliative team said; “this is however a terrible and Misleading publicity, i happen to be  among the team that went to constituency II to distribute the  palliatives. Although we first advised the team leader to start distributing the items from the first ward of which she refused and and we obeyed.

“ She advised that for the sake of time, we should begin from the last ward  which was Buyia okubuchi ward. We got there and found out the people were already gathered waiting, meanwhile it was noticed that the ward Councilor wasn't informed when the commissioner demanded to see him.

“seeing that the Councilor wasn't informed, the Commissioner began distributing the palliatives. To a point, we all became afraid seeing that people started struggling the items pressing down the old men and women, we had to stop the distribution and moved to Buda the next ward.

“Before now we called the commissioner to the side and discussed with her to allow the items with the councillors to do the sharing conviniently to avoid struggles and troubles, so that these items can get to the real deserved people but she disagreed. when we got to Oku we met only few people not even old enough, she decided to share to the few persons after being persuaded by a community chief and left the rest of the palliatives with the representative.

“Getting to Boje ward, it was late and also raining, only few persons were gathering as well and the business was no longer interesting, the councillor was not there and everyone was tired Including the Commissioner herself, she now decided to share four bags and took the left over bags to the Local Government Vice Chairman’s place.

“We moved further and when we got to Okundi going to my ward she refused proceeding, so i became angry that how can i lead them to every other wards now that is my turn they want to stop half way. For the sake of fairness and equity we should go to Kakwagom/Bawop ward,  she accepted and we went further,  reaching my place it was already 9:pm no body was still there. i convinced her to drop mine which she did, and instructed me not to distribute until she send a group of CRBC to join me.

“The last version which has caused a a mishap in the media space was at Ekpashi Ward. Indeed, there was no other place items meant for Ekpashi Ward can be droped at that particular point in time. So we decided to take them to Nkim Osokom where Hon. Tecy Omang Fobe, their councilor comes from but as soon as we entered her compound, a team of guys started making noise. This got the Commissioner angry and decided to  reverse the Vans back to Ikom.

“But after some time she called for my attention and asked me a few questions, then later change her mind and decided to drop the palliatives meant for Ekpashi Ward, but before making the decision  Very carrying the palliatives were almost getting to the  main road to Ikom

“I had to pick byke pursued them and instructed them what on what madam said they should do. But sincerely,  all of them were tired, the driver said he will  not go back again. This was when the  Ntamante Vigilantee came and said they must go back and also drop their own items that was exactly what happenned.

“ After waiting for 30 minutes and seeing that nobody came back, the commissioner decided to join us and saw the ranting and passed to Ikom. Where did Hon. Tecy go wrong?

We therefore advise the public to desert the false information of Hon. Fobe gathering thugs against the Commissioner. Besides, those boys were Vigillantees, not thugs. Vigillantees from the neighboring community not the  Hon. Fobe’s Community.
