Heavy Storm Destroys Houses, Renders Several Homeless in Boki Community

At least 20 people were rendered homeless during a day of torrential rain that also destroyed about 5 houses in Bambariko Community of Bumaji, In Boki LGA, Cross River State.

At least 30 people were rendered homeless during a day of torrential rain that also destroyed about 10 houses in Bambariko Community of Bumaji, In Boki LGA, Cross River State.  

Hon. Amos Ijow Otu, the councilor representing Beebo/Bumaji Ward, said this to Boki Blog on Thursday.

The ugly incident which happened on Monday June 8, destroyed roofs of houses, properties of high valued to their owners as a result of the heavy downpour and firce wind.

Hon. Amos Otu who's also the Leader of Boki Legislative Council, visited Communities affected to ascertain the extent of damage caused by the Storm.

Hon. Otu said: “It's so painful for people who have not recovered from the hardships of the ugly Corona virus to be devastated at this time.

I appeal to the Government & NGOs to intervene and assist the helpless people of Bambariko to put a shade above their heads.’’
