Today, 2nd November 2019, the Court of Appeal sitting in Calabar dismissed our appeal against the judgment of the National & State Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal delivered on the 4th September, 2019 in Calabar. This  judgment of the Court of Appeal, therefore, brings to a closure the National Assembly Elections held on 23rd February, 2019.

Though we are yet to receive the full judgment of the Court of Appeal and its reasoning, we accept their verdict and reaffirm our faith in the judiciary and the Nigerian Project. We, however, look forward to a time when elections in Nigeria will be conducted and managed with utmost transparency and credibility such that electoral litigations will become unnecessary.

At this point, we use this opportunity to congratulate Prof. Sandy Onor and wish him the very best as he represents the good people of Central Senatorial District of Cross River State. We assure him of our goodwill and support, going forward.

We reserve special gratitude to our supporters and members of the All Progressives Congress, not only in the Central Senatorial District but Cross River State as a whole. Your prayers and continuous encouragement mean a lot to us. We urge you not to be disappointed but remain optimistic and unshakeable in the Nigerian Project and its prospects under President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership.

God bless you all.

Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, CON, SAN
