INTERVIEW: Meet The Next Sinach, Geena; A Gospel Music Artiste From Boki LGA

Mrs Gina Osang Otu with stage name Geena is from Kakubok Iruan in Boki local government area of Cross River State. A striving Gospel music artiste also known as the Reigning Queen.

In this interview with Boki Blog, Geena says she wants to be like Popular Nigerian Gospel Artiste, Sinach in the next few years. Below is the excerpts from the interview.

Yes please, My name is Gina Osang Otu aka Reigning Queen

Can you tell us about your family?

I'm married to a wonderful, loving, responsible man named Obi Cletus Otu. We have 3 girls ages 9, 4, and 5 months respectively. We're both from Kakubok irruan, Boki LGA

We heard you're a Gospel Music Artiste, how true is This?

I wonder who whispered that to you. It's 100% true, I'm a gospel artist. Also a lyricist, poet, songwriter, scriptwriter

What inspired your passion for music?

I'd say God in the sense that He's the one who blesses one with special/specific gifts and talents

Have you released any music at all?

Yes. I released my debut album May 29th 2017 Titled "So Awesome "

Nigerian Gospel artist or upcoming Gospel artiste, which will you rather prefer to be addressed as?

Wow!! ☺ I think I'd prefer Nigerian Gospel artiste..

Do you think it's hard to succeed in music?

I'd say it's hard for those without a solid financial backing/sponsorship.

Who is your role model? Is there any Nigerian Gospel artiste you want to be like in the next few years?

I have a number of role models, namely Sinach, Ada, Cece Winans, to mention a few. Yes of course. The Nigerian Gospel artiste I'll like to be like in a few years is Sinach.

Could you say you have fans?

Yes I do, though minimal for now and of course I believe you interviewing me now you're one of my fans!

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

In the next 5 years I see myself in every home, city, Nation of the world via my songs, lyrics, poems and scripts, ultimately changing the world for the better

From your experience in music what advice could you offer people looking to get where you are today?

I'd say it has to be The Holy Spirit every step of the way, otherwise you wouldn't make the impact you were born for. And then patience, tenacity and a genuine love for God and for people.

Do you really need support to grow? What areas will you need support?

Yes I do. Firstly I really do need for people to download some of my songs that are online already free of charge.

Secondly I need sponsorship / financing to enable me promote my songs because music promotion is capital intensive.

Thirdly I'd like to relaunch my debut album considering the fact that my initial launch wasn't successful at all and would also need a lot of support in this area too.

Do you have any other hidden talent aside Music?

Yes please. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm also a lyricist, poet, songwriter and scriptwriter. I also have a flair for teaching.
