Boki people in diaspora has moved to condemn deforestation in Boki local government area of Cross River State, says it becoming to much.

According to a member of Ochibe Bokyi forum in UK; "it is solely our responsibility to educate and inform our people back home on the importance of our land and forests."

It has also been said that our land and forests are now being taken over by Chinese courtesy of the state government. 

However, Boki people in diaspora have promised to fight back in order to secure their lands. Says 'too much deforestation in Boki and there is need for us to do something'.

Deforestation has been said to have a negative effect in an economy of  every Community, State or Nation. Boki which is having most of the remaining rainforest in Cross River State, Nigeria is gradually loosing out to deforestation.

According to Wikipedia; Between 2000 and 2005 the country lost 55.7% of its primary forests, and the rate of forest change increased by 31.2% to 3.12% per annum. Forest has been cleared for logging, timberexport, subsistence agriculture and notably the collection of wood for fuel which remains problematic in western Africa.
