Senior Defence Correspondent of News Agency of Nigeria, NAN in Cross River State, Mr. George Odok Jr. has been awarded best Journalist of the year award 2019.
Odok was presented the prestigious award by the International Global Achievers Magazine for his exploits in journalism, on Saturday in Calabar, Cross River State capital.
Presenting the award, the organisers said, “In recognition of your diligence, dutifulness and dedication to the Journalism profession and contributions to the well-being of the society”, as it drew a round of applauds from other winners, nominees and attendees.
On receiving the award, Odok said, “This award means a whole lot to me because its a call for more excellent reportage and developmental stories for the growth of the society.
“Special thanks to God Almighty who has consistently given me the strength, favour and wisdom to excel in my chosen profession”.
He continued, “Again, I dedicate this award to my office, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) for giving me the platform, courage, resources and mentorship to practice journalism in our contemporary period.
“I salute Hon. Hilary Bisong, Wani Enang, Eugene Upah, Kelly Ndoma Ogar, Ojie Etta, Agbor Victor and many others who graced the occasion to celebrate with me. God bless and reward you all”, he said.
