SUBEB, NUT Applaud Ayade For The Recruitment Of Teachers And Security Men

The Executive Chairman, Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board (CR-SUBEB), Dr Stephen Odey has once again commended Governor Ben Ayade for the ongoing recruitment of 2000 teachers and 500 security men.




He made this known during the oral/practical interview exercise for candidates from Obanliku Local Government Area, at Government Secondary School, Igoli Ogoja LGA.

Dr Odey said, Governor Ayade has lived up to his promise to create employment opportunities for Cross Riverians. He added that the employment of 2000 teachers into the basic education sector will go a long way in salvaging the dearth of teachers created by retirement and death cases.

He stated that, the Governor Ben Ayade led administration was poised to ensure quality service, hence the need to employ qualified hands which will drive the basic education sector.




The Chairman, Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Cross River State Wing, Comr. Eyo Nsa Itam also commended the State Governor, stating that the recruitment exercise was a welcomed development and an answer to prayers.

According to him “God has answered our prayers because we have been clamouring for employment of teachers to fill vacancies in our schools. This development is a welcomed one and we pray the almighty God will bless His Excellency and increase his finances to meet with the financial burden this new employment will incur.”




Comr. Itam who was at the interview centre observing the exercise further commended the Board Chairman, Dr Stephen Odey for not only leading the interview team, but also undergoing the rigorous exercise to ensure that candidates are chosen based on merit.

He said “I want to thank Dr Stephen Odey for partaking in this painstaking exercise that we are seeing here today. Some people will just allow anybody conduct this exercise, but he is here in person to ensure that the right thing is done and only those based on merit are chosen. I thank him and pray that God should give him the strength to do more.”.




He added that the interview conducted by the board will ensure that best hands are employed , so pupils will have quality education and be a par with their peers across the Country.
The interview exercise which continues tomorrow 26th October, 2018 with candidates from Bekwarra LGA will bring the exercise in the Northern Senatorial zone to a close.
