Cross River State Author and Boki-born Firebrand Journalist, Mfam Isaiah, Clinches Two Prestigious Awards

Renowned for his great journalism and literary impact, Mfam Isaiah, a distinguished author from Cross River State and proud son of Boki, has been honored with two significant awards in recognition of his remarkable contributions to literature, impactful storytelling, and excellent journalism.

The Cross River State Law Students Association of Nigeria, University of Calabar chapter (CROSSLA UCC) held its annual dinner/award night at THE DOME, Calabar Municipality on the 26th July, 2025 and the Boki-born pen-user, Mfam Isaiah, was conferred with two professional awards: CROSS RIVER STATE LAW STUDENTS (CROSSLA) JOURNALIST OF THE YEAR 2025 and AWARD OF RECOGNITION TO IMPACTFUL STORYTELLING AND EXCELLENT JOURNALISM.    

These awards were conferred due to his efforts and contributions to journalism and creative writing.  Mfam Isaiah is also a seasoned author and journalist who gained prominence in both the literary and journalistic scenes. He is a law student who studied English and literary studies at the University of Calabar for his first degree. Mfam gained the grin of fame with multiple awards in journalism and literature. 

In his profession as a writer, he has authored more than 40 books, and five states in Nigeria have approved his literature books for their state's book syllabus for junior and senior secondary classes.

Mfam is also the founder, editor-in-chief, and publisher of True Talk Magazine. Receiving the award reveals that he has won the same award from three different organizations. 

His first award as Best Journalist of the Year was received from Cross River State Chieftaincy Affairs due to his contributions to the plight of border communities during the breakout of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is pleasant to state that Mfam is a journalist who is hardworking and tenacious, with both intriguing and aggressive publications that stand out. 

His second award as Best Journalist was received from the University of Calabar Law Students Association (LAWSAN UCC). The award distinguished him and endowed him with more credibility. The recent award from Cross River State Law Students, CROSSLA, confirmed Mfam Isaiah as a firebrand author and journalist with incredible storytelling skills and a passion for journalism.  

His words: I’m elated about receiving another award as the best journalist of the year. If I recall correctly, this is my third award as the best journalist. The first award as the best journalist was received from Cross River State Chieftaincy Affairs; the second award was from LAWSAN UCC; and here’s the third award in the same category. Beside journalism, i am a published author, I have published more than forty books; 'Beyond Secret', 'Bitter Death', 'My Degree Certificate', 'My Stingy Husband', 'Cassava Stick', 'The Repented Slay Queen', 'The Grasshopper's Mentality', Small Madam and 'Infatuation' are the most popular books. This is not solely a personal effort; it is a testament to your support and prayers. This award I’d like to dedicate to God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen."

Mfam has broken the ice of intelligence and etched his name in the sands of time. He is not just a young, promising author and journalist; he is full of valor and capable in many ways. Mfam is a pen giant.
