Boki Indigenous Association In Abuja ‘The Beebo Family’ elect new executives

— An Abuja-based socio-cultural organisation, The Beebo Family, comprising indigenes from Beebo clan, in Boki LGA of Cross River State have elected new executives to run the affairs of the association in the next three years. 

The association which is solely focused on uniting brothers and sisters from the clan living in Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory,which also looks into members welfare, has been a vehicle of development and transformation in the Beebo Nation, ranging from decision making and other forms of socio-cultural developmental strides respectively. 

In the just concluded election by the outgoing steering committee, Mr. Pius Otinyia emerged as the New Chairman while Mr Ayambi Peter emerged as the Vice Chairman. Other elected officers where; Achili Moses (secretary), Miracle Ntuno (assistant secretary), Annah Ajino (Treasurer), and a number of others. 

The election conducted by a 3-man election committee, began with a nomination process which had Mr. Pius Otinyia, Mr. Ayambi Peter, and Mr. Patrick Abu as chairmanship nominees. Just before the nominations started, one of the members advised that nominated candidates should be committed members and members that have the interest of the association at heart. 

Minutes to the voting session, Patrick Abu who was the acting chairman of the association voluntarily stepped down allowing the two other nominees to contest for the chairmanship position. According to Mr. Abu, he said he'd prefer to stay as a floor member supporting whoever emerges as chairman. 

The over 2hrs election exercise under a nearly-drizzling weather had Mr Pius Otinyia as Chairman. 

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Otinyia thanked the members of the association for finding him worthy to lead them as Executive Chairmam and he also seeks everyone support to making the community a better one.
