At last, the long wait is over as Comrade Ben Ukpepi, Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Cross River State chapter regains his freedom.

Ukpepi has been in captivity for 82 days (2 months, 22 days) after he was kidnapped on Sunday night, March 21, 2021, in front of his house at the CROSPIL Estate in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State, few metres away from Calabar, the state capital.

However, a reliable source said that he has been released.

Recall that the Nigeria Police, Cross River State command had earlier released a statement indicting the State Chapter of the NLC for staging the kidnapping of its Chairman.
