To mark the annual observance of Children’s Day on May 27, the Honorable member of Boki 1 constituency in Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Itam Abang has called on Nigerian Leaders to continue providing fundamental education and welfare for children.

The 27 May Children's Day Celebration is a conventional assent established by the United Nations in the year 1964. Additionally, the agreement is intertwined with an unreserved acceptance by all and sundry, that the welfare of every child is paramount and sacrosanct.

In a message made available by her Online Media Aide, the member also urged parents to continue to provide unique platforms for their moral instructions, proper home training; The full message reads...

1. Unbehalf of my My Family and the good people of Boki 1 constituency, I humbly felicitate with all Nigerian Children on the occasion of the 27 May national children's day celebration.

2. 31 years now into the United Nations Convention on the Rights of a Child, the world and its increasingly changing order is reminded today, that Children are special, to be protected, allowed to grow, learn, play, develop, and flourish with dignity; as agreed in the Convention of 1989.

2. In Nigeria and particularly Cross River State, we understand that Children are the future of our society. Born of love, we believe that without them, our hope of building a productive and creative force for tomorrow will be fluffed.

3. I want to assure you that under the foresighted leadership of His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, Governor of Cross River State, the educational, financial, social and spiritual future of our Children is assured.

4. Because we all passed through the Childhood phase, it is simply honourable and very important that parents and guardians continue to provide unique platforms for their Children's moral instructions, proper home training, as the Leaders assure you of fundamental education and welfare.

5. Unfortunately today, we’re greeted by a global novel virus - COVID-19, which has made it difficult for Government to engage our adorable Children in the usual celebrations accompanying the day. But our collective resolve in protecting every Child from the virus in Cross River State will never waver.

I wish all our Children a HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION.

May God continue to lead you all by the hand as you grow, Amen.
