"Politics is all about the people, it's about developing our people" Sir Victor Abang said during an interview session with CrossRiverWatch last month.

Victor Abang is a popular name in Cross river state and a proud son of the Boki Nation. A Gentle and Humble man who believes in giving for the growth of the society.
Sir Victor Abang has been an aide to three Senate Presidents Nnamani, David Mark and Bukola Saraki, before resigning to join NDDC.

Sir Victor Abang Is a successful business man, philanthropist, giver, and a kind personality. He owns the “All Star” Hotel in Ogoja Town, one of the biggest in the local government haviny over 50 employed staff.

He's also the owner of “Obanghe Farms” in Kakwagom/Bawop. The farm has over 6000 oil palms and over 10,000 nursery. The farm also has the piggery section, goat and grasscutter sections.

Mature, like He's popularly known has initiated various community projects that have promoted the socio-economic well-being of his people.

He built a Catholic Church “Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church” in his community in Bawop. According to him as scoped from ParadiseNews.ng “The building was part of his goodwill to the service of God and humanity”. Today, parishioners in his community now have a comfortable and well modelled place of worship. Aside that, he also gave a face-lift to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kakwagom community, this he did through donation of building materials, fixing of the roof, painting and installation of modern equipment to beautify the place of worship.

Joining The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr Empowerment, as he is fondly called, attracted meaningful development to his area.

Today, the ongoing rural electrification project which has reached an advanced stage in Kakwagom/Bawop communities was attracted by him. The project, when completed, will light up the area and improve the economic well-being of the communities. Also, the project was extended to Oku-aroh and Oku-bwanakong and will also reach the peaceful communities of Asaba, Effi-anyong and neighbouring communities.

As a gentleman who believes in teaching people how to fish, Mature used his good office while in the National Assembly to provide massive job opportunities for over 200 Boki sons and daughters and beyond.

The placement was very strategic and his kind gesture has placed the beneficiaries in Custom, Federal Civil Service, Prisons, Civil Defence, Banking and Finance, Telecommunication, Engineering, Oil and Gas among others. Mature also organised skill acquisition programmes for school leavers to acquire employed skills. Some of them were trained in Soap making, bakery, POP fixing, phone repairs, welding, computer repairs among others.

Rural road development is the bane of promoting economic activities. In other to open access road and promote local produce of farmers, Mr Empowerment also attracted a 9.4km road network to his area. Currently, over 5km road stretch have been completed and the work is ongoing.

In other to promote a conducive environment for teaching and learning, Mature also constructed a six class room block to ease the dearth of classroom spaces at the Secondary Commercial School, Kakwagom. The building has reached an advanced stage of completion. Interestingly, he also built the Arc Angel Foundation to provide assistance for medicare and scholarships to indigent students across Boki. As a way to provide accommodation for the servants of God, he also built a dormitory for Bishop McGertrude Modern Secondary School in Kakwagom.

He has used this Obanghe Farms to empower farmers with a view of making the area a major hub for oil palm production. He also established a Corporative Society for women. And too many goodwill of his that can’t be mentioned.

Contesting for Ikom/Boki Federal House of Representatives under the All Progressive Congress (APC) was to expand this developmental strides and of course to him, Politics is all about the PEOPLE.
