The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has reportedly empowered 500 women in Cross River State.

According to Guardian, The empowerment is aimed at developing women politically, socially and economically. The event was organised by NDDC and facilitated by Centre for Women and Vulnerable Children (CWVC) in Calabar.

It was also reported that, a motivational speaker and corporate trainer, Serena Francis, said women should be creative in their thinking.
Consultant to CWVC, Mrs. Ifeoma Egbuonu advised women to listen to their inner self, work on it and build a capacity that would change and impact the society and future generations.

One of the participants, Mrs. Stella Achibong, expressed satisfaction with the training, noting that she has realised the great potential hidden inside her after listening to the motivational speakers.
