President Buhari Declares Friday Public Holiday, Excluding Banks

According to him, Friday was declared work free day to enable Nigerians prepare for the rescheduled presidential and National Assembly election.

Ahead of the 2019 presidential election, President Muhammadu Buhari has declared Friday, Public holiday.

This was disclosed by Buhari’s Special Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmed on Twitter.

According to him, Friday was declared work free day to enable Nigerians prepare for the rescheduled presidential and National Assembly election.

In the terse statement which reads, “GOOD IDEA: The Federal Government has declared Friday as Workfree Day to enable Nigerians prepare for the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly Elections on Saturday.”


According to a report by Punch Newspapers, this holiday was also said to have excluded Bankers as Banking services will continue normally.
