Interview With Barr. Paulina Kaka Nyiam, APC Flag Bearer for CRSHA Boki II Constituency

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam, Aspirant for CRSHA Boki II Constituency 

Paulina Kaka Nyiam is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, the APC Flag bearer aspiring to represent Boki II in Cross River State House of Assembly. In this interview with BOKI BLOG’ Barr. Paulina Nyiam speaks about her CRSHA ambition, and what she hopes to achieve given the mandate/mantle as member representing our great constituency of Boki II. 

While she pledges effective representation, Nyiam believes Boki II will have no regret electing her CRSHA member in 2019. Below are the excerpts from the interview.






Good day ma

For the benefit of our readers whom your candidature may be new to, please could you introduce yourself?

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam: I am Paulina kaka Nyiam, Barrister and Solicitor of the supreme court of Nigeria. I am from Nkim- Osokom in Ekpashi ward, Boki LGA, Cross River State.

You emerge the flag bearer of All Progressive Congress in the just concluded primaries for Boki II State House, How do you feel?

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam: Happy! very happy and fulfilled that the Members of my party found me worthy to be their flag bearer, Bearing  in mind that I will win the general elections.

If you don't mind ma, can you tell us briefly about your family background?

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam: I am from the Nkene Royal family of Nkim-Osokom, Daughter of HRH Otu Raymond Akan Nyiam and Mrs Sussana Abun Nyiam. My late Dad was the transitional ruler of Ekpashi.

Being a licensed Legal practitioner with the Supreme Court of Nigeria, can you share some of your working experience and maybe political experience?

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam: Am a new wig. I was a supervisor for education, youths and sport Boki LGA in 2010. Supervisor for education, youths and Sport Boki LGA in 2011-2013, and SA Civil society organizations and Non governmental organization 2014-2015. I ran elections in 2015 under Labor Party for house of assembly.

Your love and support for education in Boki is quite commendable, and your educational activities in promoting Boki have been felt. What relationship do you have with your community and who have you really done for them?

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam: My relationship with my community Nkim-Osokom is excellent. I haven't done much but I was able to influence European union through its micro project program for six state in the Niger delta to provide a standard market for my community which is generating revenue for us. I have facilitated an event where my community was able yo raise funds for the building of a standard health center.

Why did you decide to run for Boki II State House?

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam: To give my people effective representation, to be that voice which they can trust and rely on and also to use political power to improve the lives of my people.

You've been doing great and you're highly respected by the Boki people, don't you think full time politics might destroy your reputation?

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam: I have never considered politics to be a career. With political powers one can lead its people to meet the challenges that they face. Criticisms helps me to recognise my strength and weakness and create the opportunity for me to improve on them. Yes People tell lies  and create all sort of stories just to run me down because i have grown beyond my ego, I don't allow those lies created about me bother or affect me, because I know for sure that i have the right attitude and temperament to lead my people.

Why do you believe you deserve to replace Hon Hillary Bisong and be elected in 2019?

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam: Boki 2 is not about Hon Hillary Bisong and I. Our people need a voice they can trust and rely on, I am. sure I am that voice they need and deserve.

I Sincerely understand, but if I should ask, what special qualities do you have that is not portrayed by the incumbent CRSHA member of Boki II?

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam: I rather will allow the electorate to answer this question, Because it is their choice to make.

Why running under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC)?

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam: Am a member of APC, I joined the All Progressive Congress since 2015, to run elections in Nigeria you need a political party to sponsor you.

APC have not really been a favourite party in Boki LGA, do you think your party affiliation might hinder your move in 2019?

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam: I don't agree with you, I think that 2019 elections will be more about personality and not party, if my people, the electorate like me (which I know they do), then they will also accept my political party.

That's true!

We have heard the preaching of allowing electorate vote for their choice during election, but based on the recent elections in Boki, politicians share gifts and money, most times those who share more end up winning the election. Don't you worry that it would also play a huge role in 2019?

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam: Am not worried about that at all, politics its about persuation. when I get to that bridge I will cross it.

What particular areas will you concentrate on if elected in 2019?

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam: I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch. I have just one goal, which is to better and improve on the lives of the people I will be elected to represent, and that will be depending on the opportunities available to me.

Which last words do you have for your constituents ahead of 2019?

Hon. (Barr) Paulina Kaka Nyiam: I wish to use this medium to seek the support of my dear people of Boki II Constituency, i promise that they will have no regret.
