‘’Democracy is all about the people, their needs, and desires and how to satisfy them with effective representation that will translate to good governance. This good governance can only be achievable when those that have the love of the people at heart are given the opportunity to represent their constituency. They should be those with unquestionable characters, tested and trusted; whose track records are verifiable and are ready to serve the people as servants not leaders’’ (Richard, 25).

There had been a tussle for power in Boki 1 recently, concerning the party candidacy even though so many are still not so comfortable with the final decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on release of the final names of candidates on 9 November 2018.

We all cannot be leaders at the same time but have a few people representing us and it’s only when we are well represented that we will get the dividends of democracy.
