Boki Blog: Where are you from?

Peace Bessong: Am from Bashua in Boki local government area,  Cross River State.

Boki Blog: People say you're a Nollywood actress! How true is that?

Peace Bessong: It is true. I started acting from the church,  I've done lots of stage work in church,  I also acted outside of my church with a particular drama group called The proclaimers, they watched me on stage and fell in love with the way I acted,  they contacted me,  that was just another experience.
I joined Nollywood,  after my first soap opera, titled Corpers lodge, with my director as Norbert young,  i became officially registered with the actors guild of Nigeria.

Boki Blog: Can we know a little about your family?

Peace Bessong: Am from a family of Eight. 5 girls and 3 boys. Am the 5th child. My father is a retired military doctor and my mum a retired medical records officer.

Boki Blog: How long have you been in the movie industry? How many movies have you been featured in?

Peace Bessong: 7years ago. Though I wasn't steady because I had to go back to school. Well for movies I have been featured in, Corpers lodge, The kings story, The return of dangerous maiden, Street singles, 3bs, Evil friend and Heart of a soldier. For some I didn't get to know their names because after shoot I went my way including my recent movie,  I just finished shooting last week in Asaba, Delta state

Boki Blog: 7 years in the movie industry... Would you say you're a popular actress?

Peace Bessong: Well I would say am still coming up. But in Asaba where I began,  I would say I am popular. However I am back to the industry full time

Boki Blog: Are you married?

Peace Bessong: Not yet

Boki Blog: What are your biggest challenges as an actress?

Peace Bessong: The fact that am not Igbo has been a major challenge! I remember once a producer gave me a script, afterwards he asked if am Igbo I said no. he collected the script and said he can never cast a non-igbo
When I joined the movie industry lots of the producers will try to harass you sexually and when you don't accept it they try to frustrate you by not giving you roles and they ask others too not to cast you in their jobs. It was indeed frustrating
The fact that most producers/director don't cast on merit,  it's either you buy the role with your money or probably using your body even when you are not qualified for the role

Boki Blog: How did you join the industry? And what motivated you to join?

Peace Bessong: I've always loved acting, even from the church where I started I headed the drama unit. At some point , then I was still acting in church. I wanted to produce my own movie,  I hadn't joined Nollywood. I flew to Lagos to seek a marketer at last those who promised to sponsor didn't comply as promised for one reason or the other. I decided to relocate to Lagos but my younger sister said we should stop by at Asaba a friend of hers promised to introduce her to some people who could help. That friend is (Zubi Micheal)  on getting there it didn't work as planned. He only told her where the AGN office is,  we got there,  I saw an audition notice for (corpers lodge , I went for it,  was casted, after shoot. I registered and because a member.

Boki Blog: Do you think it's easy to Join the movie industry now?

Peace Bessong: Yes much easier than when I joined

Boki Blog: When last did you visit Boki Local Government Area? When do you hope to visit again?

Peace Bessong: I was in boki in October 2016 for my maternal grandpa's burial ceremony, I was also in Boki on November 2016, for one of my sister traditional wedding ceremony. Well, I hope to visit again when the need Arises

Boki Blog: What's your advice for other upcoming actors and actresses?

Peace Bessong: Stay focused!
Stay strong! Because days will come when you feel like giving up!
Never give up your dreams!
Never give up on God!
He is able to take you there! Where your heart so desires!

Boki Blog: Which Book or Music motivates you as a young actress?

Peace Bessong: I like both circular and gospel music but for circular music, it must have meaningful lyrics not just a noise. I like inspirational books, one that could lift my spirit when I feel down, one that adds value to me

Boki Blog: Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Peace Bessong: By the grace of God I see myself going internationally and producing my own movies in grand style, Impacting lives in ways I could.
