Boki - Ogoja Hold Peace Talk Over Lingering Land Dispute

The inter Local Government peace  session held to quell the brimming crisis between Idum-Mbube community of Ogoja and the Oku Bishuyu community of Boki LGA, saw in attendance the Local Government Chairmen of Boki and Ogoja; Pastor John Ewa and Hon Emmanuel Ishabor, the Paramount Ruler of Ogoja Local Government Area Chief George Mbembem, members of the Mbube Chief Council, leaders and youths of Idum-Mbube and Oku Bushuyu communities and security Chiefs of both Local Government Councils respectively.

Hosted by the Mbube Community, the meeting proffered lasting solution to the lingering land dispute between both villages. 

Speaking, Hon. Ewa reiterated his commitment to the harmonious living of the two LGAs, appreciating both communities for accepting dialogue, being a key tool in crisis mitigation.

The Ogoja Local Government Chairman on the other hand expressed delight to both communities for their willingness to give peace a chance, adding that the Ogoja and Boki people have lived like brothers from time immemorial.

The Ogoja Paramount Ruler blessed both communities, charging them to always resort to dialogue at all times.

Recall that the Oku Bushuyu and 

Idum Mbube communities had had a near war land dispute months ago.
