Deputy Governor lauds developmental strides of the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Wildlife Resource Management.

Cross River Deputy Governor, His Excellency Professor Ivara Ejemot Esu has lauded the developmental strides of the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Wildlife Resource Management of the University of Calabar.

Professor Esu made the commendation when the Dean and Head of Departments in the Faculty paid him a courtesy call in Government House Calabar.

The Deputy Governor, who expressed delight at the visit which he described as a family visit as he is still one of them from the Faculty where he grew to become the Vice Chancellor.

He noted that, the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Wildlife Resource Management has grown in leap and bounds from the year he left the Faculty and the University by establishing more Departments such as, Department of Fishery and Aqua-Culture, and Food Science and Technology.

Professor Esu also observed that, the Faculty has produced three (3) Vice Chancellors (VC) and four (4) Deputy Vice Chancellors (DVCs) with numerous publications and research works done by the Faculty.

He expressed the hope that, with the present crop of leadership, the Faculty will continue to grow to an amiable position in the University.

The Deputy Governor appealed to the Faculty to offer assistance where necessary especially in the area of Agriculture which is the mainstay of the State economy.

The leader of the team and Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Wildlife Resource Management, Professor Ayuk Osaji intimated that, the visit was to congratulate the Deputy Governor for his reelection and also interact with him as a stakeholder in the Faculty.

Dr Osaji stated that, the leadership is proud to have him at the exalted position of Deputy Governor of the State and look forward to his valuable contribution to the development of the Faculty Agriculture, Forestry and Wildlife Resource Management of the University of Calabar.

The visit was attended by the Permanent Secretaries of Agriculture and Natural Resources Rev. Joseph Ugbe, SSG Office, Innocent Eteng, Education, Dr. Mrs. Aniedi Bassey.
