The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has on Friday released details of Governorship and House of Assembly candidates in Cross River State. 

Prior to the release of the list, there have been controversies following the outcome of primaries in in the state and some constituencies over the names of candidates submitted to the parties.

For Governorship, Governor Ben Ayade's name was published as candidate for the People's Democratic Party, (PDP) with Prof. Ivara Asu as running mate, respectively.

The commission also released the name of Senator John Owan Enoh as the governorship candidate for the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Mr.  Ekpo Okon as his running mate.

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Usani, did not make the list.

Also for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Eyo Ekpo was published as candidate for Governorship with Wofai Ewa as running mate.

For the names of House of Assembly candidates across the state, Itam Abang has been confirmed candidate for Boki 1 State House of Assembly, and Hillary Bisong Candidate for Boki II State Constituency both under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

Under the All Progressive Congress (APC) Barr Sabastine Ubua Anyia is the authentic candidate for Boki 1 Constituency and Barr Paulina Kaka Nyiam confirmed candidate for Boki II Constituency. 

In Ikom, Ubong Stella Nkoro (PDP) is the only candidate contesting for the Ikom Constituency seat in the Cross River State House of Assembly.
