In Dr Shendam's polling unit 005 in Njua/Kebet, Boki LGA, Ayade  scored 616 votes as against 55 votes of the APC.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the election, Shendam said it was important to re-elect Ayade, saying that he was a God send to Cross River State, adding that even President Buhari likes Ayade developmental strides.

"President Buhari and Ayade may not belong to same party, but I can bet my Liver, Mr President prefers to see Governor Ayade elected back into office to continue with his good works", he said.

He further said that it was important for the North to also complete their two terms as the South and Central have had theirs.

"From what we are doing here today, you can see that everyone is happy to have voted for Ayade. He deserves another amazing and sparkling second term in office," he said.

When asked of his next step on his own House of Representatives election outcome, Shendam said "we are already at  the election Tribunal and Appeal court".
