Why I Will Cast My Vote For Atiku, Rose Oko, Jarigbe Agom - Voplink media publisher

The Publisher VOPLINK MEDIA has vehemently declared that he would cast his vote for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Senator Rose Okoji Oko, Cross River Northern Senatorial District and Hon. Jarigbe Agom, Ogoja/Yala federal constituency in Saturday's Presidential/National Assembly elections.

In the words of the blogger, Matthew Okache, he noted that the retrogression the country has witnessed could only be corrected if Nigerians vote in a credible leader in Atiku, who is capable of getting the nation's economy, poor security network and poverty working for the people if elected as President.


He said; "I will cast my vote for Atiku Abubakar based on his achievements. Atikue has created over 50,000 direct jobs and 250,000 indirect ones. He has the largest private employers of labour in the state only second to the state government. It’s not a lot, but it does help reduce unemployment.”

“As VP, he assembled what is arguably the best Economic Team ever in Nigeria. It was made up of young, world class professionals, who came home to work. Some of those professionals are now political leaders, governors and world leaders in their own right.”

“He has a proven record of bringing young, unknown professionals into service. Many of the professionals and ministers he brought in were in their 30s and early 40s. Some of those young leaders have become governors in their states. He went to the World Bank and met a bright lady, convinced her to come back home, and she became a star in our government. To show you he had effective leadership, the same lady could not replicate her exploits under a different government.”

On the other hand, the publisher stated that Senator Rose Oko remains one of the few female senators at the red Chamber that has sponsored various bills and ensure growth and development in Cross River State.  He also outlined some of the achievements of Sen. Oko within the three years she has been in power.

"So far, her less than three years in the Red Chamber is indeed, a time well spent. This brief, but significant period has been quite eventful, as it is dotted all over with dividends upon dividends of democracy.

"In the area of health, the Senator deserves commendation. The thinking of the federal lawmaker is that, it is only when people are healthy and sound, will they be able to work and contribute meaningfully to their socio-economic well-being and that of the society at large. Hence, she has been consistent in pursuing vigorous health intervention campaigns for her people.

"In 2016 alone, Senator Rose Oko undertook several medical outreach programmes across the nooks and corners of Cross River Northern Senatorial District, so much to the admiration of Traditional Rulers and chief, who showered her with encomiums. She generously bankrolled the medical bills for Eighty (80) constituents who were suffering from life-threatening illnesses.

"This magnanimous gesture, no doubt, gave beneficiaries a second chance at life. Within the same year, she distributed Eight Hundred (800) units of Sight Corrective eye glasses to people with varying degrees of visual impairments. To this category of beneficiaries, Senator Oko, represents the light at the end of their dark tunnel.she provided hospital equipment worth Forty Million Naira (N40, 000,000) to different health care facilities in zone; this is, in addition to the provision of regular counseling on various deadly diseases such as, HIV/AIDS, Lassa fever, Breast Cancer and many more.

"Senator Oko consistently followed up with provision of science equipment to Thirteen (13) Secondary Schools. The move was a conscious effort geared towards reviving the teaching and learning of science subjects these in schools, which was hitherto, greeted were lukewarm attitude by both teachers and students, owing to lack of teaching apparels. Among the schools that benefited from this gesture are Mary knoll College, Yala, Ogoja; Government Science School, Ukpa; Government Science School, Ipong; Technical School, Bendi, to mention but a few.

In additional, the Voplink media publisher also believed that Hon Jarigbe Agom deserved a second term in power and at the same time mandating Cross Riverians to vote massively for him by on his numerous achievements.

"He has employed and facilitated the employment of his constituents into federal agencies. Effective Representation; sponsoring bills and moving motions to better the lives of Ogoja/Yala constituents in particular and Nigerians at Large.

He has moved a motion which was adopted to seek justice for the alleged murder of Ms. Joy Odama by an Abuja based Alhaji. Hon. Jarigbe who has proven to be an indispensable force in the House of Representative, was also mandated with so many responsibilities to represent the house at various fora. Notable among such was his recent appointment to chair the committee investigating the revenue leakages in the Department of Petroleum Resources. A job he has so far carried out meticulously & credibly.

"Besides, he built a solar Powered Boreholes in Ishibori, Yache, Okuku, Idum- mbube & Ibil. Ishibori is completed and commissioned. The rest are 90% completed.
