RE: BOKI/IKOM FEDERAL HOUSE SEAT QUAGMIRE; SENATOR VICTOR NDOMA- MUST COME CLEAN

The attention of the Reality Campaign Network of Sir Victor Abang has been drawn to a malicious report from Hon. Cletus Obun’s Campaign Organisation aimed at disparaging the personality of the former Senate Leader and current Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba, and his Chief of Staff, Sir Victor Abang.

To set the record straight, Hon. Cletus Obun is not the authentic candidate of the APC for Ikom/Boki Federal House of Representative because the matter is still in court. At best, Obun can be described as a `disputed candidate’ until judgment is delivered on the matter.

The Reality Campaign Organisation, wish to state that Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba, is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), a respected Nigerian that respect the law. He has not taken side on the matter; rather, he has refused to deliberate on it because it would be sub-judice. Ndoma-Egba should be commended for not delving into a matter that is in court.

Ndoma-Egba is a very straight forward Nigerian that is not interested in putting lackeys in positions of leadership. Ndoma-Egba left the PDP because of INJUSTICE, he cannot be seen playing the PDP script as he is been accused by Cletus Obun’s Campaign Organisation.

More so, Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba has high regards for Boki sons and daughters. He has appointed several Boki sons to work with him at various stages of his public service. Such Boki sons include, Hon. Abubakar Ewa, Hon. Aja Bisong Edmund and Sir Victor Abang.  Boki nation has benefited from numerous development projects from Ndoma-Egba; such projects include roads, water schemes, the Irruan dam project, the Sankwala-Bumaji road that was awarded at the tune of N1.3billion at the instance of Cletus Obun who is disparaging the Senator today.

During the said meeting that was held in Ikom on Dec. 1st 2018, the Reality Campaign Network debunks the allegation that Sir Victor Abang arranged for thugs to manhandle members of Obun Campaign Organisation. The report is not only false but mischievous. We want to put it clear that Sir Victor Abang, as a respected Knight of the Catholic Church, does not sponsor thugs.

Sir Victor Abang was the candidate that was returned elected by the electoral committee sent by the party to conduct the primaries. He won the primaries with 19,537 votes against Cletus Obun who got 1,282 votes.

Prior to the primaries, the APC Caucus from Boki local government area met for several days and adopted Sir Victor Abang as sole candidate for the race, but Cletus Obun rejected the outcome of the caucus meeting and went ahead to the field where he was defeated.

Shortly after Sir Victor Abang was declared winner, Cletus Obun went to Abuja and laid siege at the APC National Secretariat, where he connived with some people to substitute Abang’s name on the list of winners. However, this was part of the reason why President Muhammadu Buhari asked all aggrieved members of the party who were not satisfied with the outcome of the primaries to seek redress in court.

Interestingly, it was Sir Victor Abang’s sterling profile and leadership qualities that endeared him to Ndoma-Egba to invite him over to work with him in NDDC as his Chief of Staff. Sir Victor Abang has used his positions over the years to help Boki people far better that Cletus Obun. We challenge Obun to come out and tell us what he has done for the Boki people in the positions he has held.

Sir Victor Abang has a rich profile; he is not a boy to Ndoma-Egba as widely claimed by the Obun’s Campaign Organisation. He was appointed Personal Assistant to the Chairman of Boki local Government Council in 1996. He served in various capacities at various times as Secretary, Management Committee, Nsadop Oil Palm Estate, Boki Local Government Area 1999-2000; and Supervisor for Agriculture, Environment and Tourism, 2000-2002.

He served as Chief Legislative Officer to the Senate President 2005-2007; Special Assistant to the Senate President on Public Affairs 2007-2016 and Chief of Staff to Niger Delta Development Commission's (NDDC) Chairman 2016; a position he holds till date.

He has facilitated over 200 federal appointments for Boki people and beyond. Cletus Obun and his campaign organisation should stop parading themselves as the authentic candidate for the Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency until judgement is delivered on the matter.

So, Sir Victor Abang is in court to correct the injustice on his victory through the legal means.
