A former front line Chairmanship Aspirant in Boki Local Government Area Mr. Leo Kidze has expressed pessimism towards the Governor's Re-election bid.

According to him, Winning the 2019 Gubernatorial polls will not be easy as it used to be considering the fact that there are no Local Government Executives.

Another point he made was that considering the fact that almost all top appointees of the Governor are also seeking election in other offices, and as such will be more concerned about their own election will also be a reason to not be too optimistic.

Hence, with no Ward Councillors, no Local Government Chairmen and a good number of appointees seeking election He will evidently have issues with grassroot mobilisation, which is exactly where the electorates are.

He in his words said
"I can't understand why all top aides of Ben Ayade are seeking elections , what's going on ? This is a big problem and concern for his re-election in a time where there are no Counsillors and LGA Chairmen ... Mbok ?"

Meanwhile,

In reaction against the alleged automatic tickets planned for serving members of the 8th Cross River State House of Assembly (CRSHA) by the Executive Governor of the State, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, a sizeable lot of aspirants and already aggrieved party men/women under the auspices of the People's Democratic Party are firmly resolved on defecting massively from the PDP should the hierarchy of the PDP go ahead with imposing incumbent CRSHA members on the party ahead of the Primaries this week.

According to NegroidHaven: Our correspondent learnt that arrangements are on top gear for many PDP aspirants to defect with their supporters as recent revelations alleges that there is a clandestine plot by the state governor to impose all the present members of the 8th Assembly on the party as they prepare for the party's House of Assembly primary elections come Thursday,  4th October 2018.

According to the source, the purported planned imposition which will see to it that over 99% of the current members of the House return to the 9th Assembly come 2019. These will include those who have spent over 8 years in the House and still wish to go back.

In a protest to this rumoured imposition, it was learnt that the aspirants have also concluded arrangement to defect from the party should the governor effect his plot on Thursday.

It is also speculated that the aspirants who have formed a strong bond amongst themselves have started holding talks with leaders of an opposition party in the state, with the aim of strengthening the party to cause a defeat to PDP in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, while some of them may likely fly the party's flag in the forthcoming House of Assembly election in the state.

It should be recalled that all the aspirants who were screened and cleared to run the gubernatorial primary elections against the incumbent governor were disqualified on the eve to the election.

Fillers has it that these House of Assembly aspirants might likely join forces with both the aggrieved National Assembly and gubernatorial aspirants who were denied tickets by the party to frustrate Ayade's gubernatorial bid.

The source who passionately pleaded anonymity explained that, 'the level of impunity against and denigration of internal democracy in the PDP is absolutely condemnable. One would have naturally thought that, for a now opposition political party who was once a leading party at the centre and claiming to be forgiven by Nigerians, to proceed below expectation in the full glare of the polity as if all is well is to say the least disturbing.

'If the hierarchy of the party aren't disposed to change for good, we are ready to change such a platform to a place anticipated to be better'.
