Wild Jubilations As PDP NWC Clears Agara, Osim-Asu

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has upheld the clearance given to Chief (Bar) Chris Agara and Hon. (Engr.) Dane Osim Asu in Calabar. 

Chief, Bar. Chris Agara and Hon., Engr. Dane Osim Asu are the leading contenders in the race for the tickets for the Senate in the Cross River Central and Boki /Ikom Federal Constituency. 

Their fellow contenders had resorted to the mean - spirited and low alternative of writing petitions as the only affront to their rising profile. Most communities and groups have in the last few months indicated their preference for the pair, a development that is said to have sent fear waves to their opponents.

Finding it impossible to match their profile, competence, sagacity, reach, public acceptability and deep pockets, their opponents mounted a campaign of deceit and calumny to deceive the Party in Abuja to disqualify them. 

This wily plan of the tortoise and the devil has however fallen flat on its face as the enraged Chairman of the Party, Prince Uche Secondus thundered yesterday to Agara and Osim Asu, "who told you that you have been disqualified? Disqualified for what? If you were disqualified, we would have recalled your Clearance Certificate as we did in the case of Hon. Emma Ibeshi. Please go back to Cross River and return to the field ".

It is suspected that the document circulating in the social media to the effect that the leading pair and others have been disqualified was intended to create panic among their passionate followers. This plan can now no longer have effect as everyone now knows that it is a fake and forged document by desperate aspirants who have neither courage and belief in themselves nor do they have the capacity to compete in a free and fair contest, based on their abysmal records. 

It is a major pointer to their criminal disposition that they now plot to obtain victory on the cheap, through the black market, by writing baseless and unfounded petitions, alleging that the pair was not released from office by the Governor. For the record, Hon. Dane Osim Asu was released from office by a document witnessed under the Governor's seal and imprimatur on August 15.2018. While Chief Chris Agara never accepted any appointment in this government, never did screening or documentation, and never took a salary from government. 

When contacted by this reporter, the Director - General of Chris Campaign Organization, Hon. Jones Tamgban, laughed off the publication as a fluke, adding that "the social media is not the official information dissemination organ of our great party. If an aspirant is disqualified, what the Party does is to withdraw the Certificate of Clearance from such already cleared aspirant. As you can see we still have our certificates of clearance and we are in the field prosecuting our agenda for change and for fresh air. 

Hon. Dane Osim Asu, leading contender for Boki /Ikom Federal constituency on the other hand said that "when the Almighty has a hand in a project, the machinations of the evil ones fail in the end ".

The millions of supporters of Chris Agara and Dane Osim Asu are grateful to our great party for the clearance and for the timely clarification. Now let work continue as we coast home surely and most certainly to victory. A victory that will surely change our story and put a new song in our lives. All hail Senator Chris Agara! All hail MP Dane Osim Asu!!
